Wearing Your Story
Some garments do more than complete an outfit. They complete a memory.
There’s a jacket I still wear that most people wouldn’t think twice about. (My dad’s Korea era M65 jacket.)
The lining’s a bit frayed. The buttons a tad loose.
But I keep reaching for it, not because it’s perfect, but because it means something.
It reminds me of where I’ve been. (as well as my dad)
The seasons we walked through.
The version of us that wore it in the first place.
We all have pieces like that.
They aren’t just worn because they’re stylish.
They’re worn because they’re storied.
And that makes them priceless. (to us)
